The Chevening UK Government Full Masters Scholarship application for Academic year 2015 is now open

, , No Comments
Based on the feedback I got from sharing the UNICAF scholarship info I have decided to share this with the hope that it will benefit someone I know.

Every year the UK government offers full scholarship to do any masters degree in a UK university. The scholarship offer covers --
  1. tuition fees (there is a global Chevening fee cap of £13,000 for MBA and Master's in Finance). If the tuition fees of your chosen university course exceed this amount, you will be required to fund the remainder.
  2. a living allowance at a set rate (for one individual)
  3. an economy class return airfare to the UK
  4. additional grants to cover essential expenditure
Application for the 2015/2016 academic year has begun and the deadline is November 15, 2014.

The Eligibility requirements are --
  1. Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country, and intend to return there for a minimum of 2 years after your Chevening Award has finished. (As a Nigerian you already meet this criteria).
  2. Hold a degree that is equivalent to at least an upper-second class (2:1) honours degree in the UK before applying.
  3. Have completed at least two years' work experience before applying. This can include voluntary work and paid or unpaid internships.
  4. Meet the Chevening English language requirement by 15 July 2015. (Usual TOEFL or IELTS exam).
  5. Apply to three different eligible UK university courses for a one year masters. (Not required that you have secured admission. Pick one great school and 2 average schools).
  6. Not hold British citizenship or dual British citizenship
  7. Not have previously studied in the UK under a UK government-funded scholarship.
  8. Not be an employee, relative of employee, or former employee (since July 2012) of Her Majesty’s Government (including British Embassies/High Commissions, the Department for International Development, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, UK Trade and Investment, the Ministry of Defence and the Home Office), the British Council, a partner, a sponsoring UK university, or a staff member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities.

So if you feel that you meet the criteria and are ready to go to school full-time for the next one year, here is the application linkhttp://www.chevening.org/apply/
